About this job

Our Client is seeking a Network Engineer that can thrive in a challenging and rewarding environment. This person will lead designs, implement, troubleshoot, analyze and maintain networks across the enterprise. The candidate will also be responsible for the daily support of the enterprise wide and local area network components; including Network Security components and Vendor communications.  In addition, the candidate should be comfortable interfacing with technical team members across organizational departments.

Candidate can work out of either Portsmouth, NH or Ashburn, VA.



Duties

 Ensure access to network servers, customer sites, SaaS products, and maximizing network infrastructure efficiency through performance monitoring, managing resource use,
implementation of upgrades, diagnostics and troubleshooting and have the ability to configure, test and maintain LAN/WAN equipment and
related services including OS patches/software upgrades.
Provide subject matter expertise in all aspects of Cisco/HP/Juniper routing, switching and security.
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.
Perform security audits and addresses deficiencies of all firewall and VPN appliances.
Perform analysis for performance and capacity
Identify diagnoses and resolves network problems (alerts and trouble tickets)
Windows, RHEL Linux systems, AIX and VMware, Security software’s, SMTP and authentication administration
Participates in 24x7 on-call rotation.

 
Requirements:

2-3 or more year’s hands-on networking experience.
Experience with network designs, install, configuration/provisioning and troubleshooting.
Experience with Cisco Nexus 5000.
Experience with STP, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, MPLS, and QoS.
Experience with Frame Relay, SS7, IP, PPP, IEEE 802.1x, Call Routing, VPN, Wireless access points, remote access, routers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, HTTP, SSH,
SMPT, FTP, PRI, OC-x, DS3, DS1, DS0, TDM concepts.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting F-5 and Cisco 4710 ACE Load Balancers.
Experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco ASA and Juniper firewalls and or other firewal experience is ok.
Experience with setup and monitor or security in WAN/LAN environment as well as troubleshooting skills.
Must be available during evening and weekend hours to provide scheduled and non-scheduled 24x7 on-call support.
25% travel.
